Alba McVicar Reyes

I’m Alba, a 23-year-old Spanish Film & Journalism graduate with a passion for live music (of any kind), queer horror cinema and other media, and thick fantasy books starring complex female characters. Throughout my Bachelor's and MSc in Gender Studies, I produced two First-class Dissertations, as well as a portfolio of essays and creative work/research which reflects my love and respect for any and all forms of artistic expression. While working as Folk & Honey’s Scotland-based Editor, I’m a freelance transcriptionist, researcher and writer, and I also volunteer with feminist organisations in my free time! 

My love for live music comes from my childhood. My mom used to sing in a Blues band while I was growing up, and I vividly remember the magical feeling of watching her perform and dance on stage. Those memories have since inspired me to embrace any genre of music with open arms and to make sure I can experience live music as often as I can!
